Today Show BA
I saw this on the news... A Today show host (I assume) had a little girl and named her:
Vale
She explains her reasons in the article below. It looks like there is no middle name and she has both parents' last names. Opinions on Vale?

Is it possible Guthrie actually is a middle name, rather than a second last name? The caption under the video identifies the baby as "Vale Feldman."
I think Vale is rather pretty, though not something I'd use myself. Vale works well enough as a name--better than something like North or Honey, anyway--and I like the place name connection between it and the mother's name.

It's such a non-name. It's supposed to be a nature name, I know, but nobody says vale in talking about the outdoors.
Hmmm. Night Vale fans? Originally I thought it sounded too masculine for a girl, but actually I think it works. A possible nickname could be Valey, which rhymes with Haley and that's a girls name...
It's almost a hippie name in disguise. Technically it's like naming your kid Meadow, but it doesn't have such an obvious feel to it.

Regardless of the reason, I'm not crazy on the name
