Isolde & variations
What is your favorite variation of Isolde? I struggle with making it look less like "is old" but still pronouncable.

I like Isotta (ih-SAH-tuh).

I like Isolde best.

I've never even thought about "is old"Isolde is my favorite, followed by Isolda. I just came up with the combo Isolde Annabel too, and I don't even like Annabel but I like this combo.

I like Esyllt best, but it would be horribly mangled outside Wales. Isolde looks lovely, but there's no getting round the sound of it. So, Eseld or Yseult.

My favorite variant is definitely Iseult / Yseult, though I also love Isotta.

My favourite is the Cornish version Eseld, which in my opinion sounds more youthful and avoids the "is old" look. It is also pronounced how is is written. However Isolde is still lovely and I have never registered the "is old" thing before.

Honestly, the "is old" thing doesn't bother me. I never see that when I look at the name, it just doesn't register. I like that spelling.
