Eliza
Would you be happier to meet an Eliza then you would another Elizabeth? I think I am beginning to become a member of that group myself.I really love Eliza Jane.

Absolutely. Elizabeth does nothing but bore me. Eliza is fresh and fun and spunky. I would use it myself.Eliza Jane is great. The two names really balance each other.

No, I'd rather meet an Elizabeth nn Eliza than an Eliza. Eliza is fine as a nickname but not as a full name.

I think Eliza does seem fresher than Elizabeth. Eliza Jane is quite "vanilla", but classic and pretty at the same time.

I like both Eliza and Elizabeth I have to say. I'm happy to hear either.

Yes yes yes yes. Eliza is awesome. Elizabeth is so uninteresting.Eliza Jane is nice enough. Though I would really love Eliza June.

Elisabeth (this spelling) is popular among middle aged women where I live. Not Elizabeth, or Eliza though. But yes, I would be happier to meet an Eliza. I really like Eliza, but I quite like Elizabeth nn Eliza as well. And lately I've been thinking about Elisa. Less is more. I can't make up my mind about which one I prefer. Depends on the combo I guess.

I'd be equally happy. I'd use Eliza before I used Elizabeth, though. I love Eliza. Eliza Jane is nice. It seems very Jane Austen. I also like:
Eliza Josephine
Eliza Caroline
Eliza Genevieve
Eliza Winifred

Eliza is more annoying than Elizabeth. Elizabeth has been more or less steadily popular for forever, but Eliza was popular for a while and then faded out by the time 1900 rolled around, and now it's a yuppie/hipster favorite. Plus it sounds like a maid, whereas Elizabeth doesn't. And Elizabeth has all kinds of other nns to choose from but Eliza really doesn't.Eliza Jane reminds me of the rhyme the kids sang in "Little Town on the Prairie" to make fun of their teacher, Eliza Jane Wilder. It went something likeIt's lots of fun to go to school,
Laugh and grow fat is the only rule.
We laugh until we have a pain,
at Lazy Lousy Lizy Jane.

I agree with you about Eliza being a bit yuppie (though i think "favorite" is an exaggeration) but I don't see how it's hipster. I see it as a very conservative, traditional name. Not cool at all. But maybe we see hipsters differently.

I think it's a little hipster. I can easily see Eliza being the daughter of a couple of "Portlandia" characters.
