Two under consideration
Connelly - I was thinking for a boy. What are your thoughts, perceptions, and opinions of the name? What would you imagine his brothers to be named? How would you pair it? Any nickname ideas?Aniston - Also for a boy. What are your thoughts, perceptions, and opinions of the name? What would you imagine his brothers to be named? How would you pair it? Any nickname ideas?

The celeb-surname thing is hard to overlook, seeing them together like this, and considering they're both Jennifers. I probably would not think of Jennifer Connelly, but I would definitely think of Jennifer Aniston if I met a boy named Aniston. Just like Theron would make me think of Charlize Theron, and Ashton would make me think of Kutcher, and Cullen would make me think of Twilight. So, Aniston brothers: Ashton, Theron, and Cullen.
More Jennifer actress surnames: Lawrence, Garner, Lopez, Hudson, Hewitt, Grey!I'd rather see Connolly on a boy, than Connelly. The Nelly part goes away and you get nn Nol (pronounced a lot like Noel). I can't think of any good nicks for Aniston, but it rolls off as two syllables "An'ston" pretty easily and might not need one.Aniston sounds preppy and trendy, like Ashton, Spencer, Baxter, Weston.
Connelly sounds more spunky and sporty like Brogan, Driscoll, Ainsley, Ripley.
Funny how -son and -ton names sound prissier to me than other surnames.
Dougal and Malcolm also come to mind based on Connelly but they are not that surnamey.

Connelly is kinda nice. It's exactly the sort of surname I like on a boy. The only nns I can think of that I actually wouldn't mind using are either Connell, or maybe Cole?Aniston sounds nice enough but it's all girl to me. How's about Ariston instead? That's loads better, is a male name, and the meaning is pretty cool. Plus you can get Ari as a nn instead of Ani.
Eta: just noticed that Connell is actually a legit name on it's own and as Conall it means "strong wolf" ... Now THAT is cool

Jennifer Connelly and Jennifer AnistonTerendy, surname names that belong to really stuck up brothers with white parents who are super-privileged hipster liberals.

I can sort of see Connelly on a boy, as a "look at me, I'm totes Irish, y'all!" sort of thing. Like he'd have a brother named Finnegan and a sister named Hennessy. Con might do for a nn, but really, a con is a scam or somebody that's done prison time. There's always Nelly, but I don't need to explain the trouble there. The whole thing is like "too hip to use Connor" which isn't a great name but it is better than Connelly.Aniston just sucks. It's a cheesy, tryndee girls' name now and the only nn that makes any kind of sense is Annie.

Well, I like Finnegan a lot and I don't mind Hennessy either...so maybe I'm all "look at me, I'm totes Irish, y'all!" Doh.Yes, Con and Nelly are both bad options. I was hoping someone would have a brainwave of a nickname. Aniston is a cheesy, tryndee girl's name now? Dang it. Where? It hasn't hit the top 1000 for the US yet. No comment on Aniston for a boy? I'm assuming you think it's 'totes' unusable?

you assume correctlyAnd my referencing Annie as its nn hammers home the point.
It may not be on the chart yet but it has that flavor about it pretty strong.

Both way too much of a surname (connelly EXPECIALLY) and Aniston seems way feminine and not because of Jennifer aniston

Yup, I love surnames as first name on boys. I used to pretend I didn't, because it was not cool around here....but I am no longer ashamed! :)

Hey, I like some surnames as boys names too. No shame there (:
I'm just not crazy on the ones that are TOO much of a surname
I know lots hate it which I can partially understand but I think names such as (for example) parker, porter, carter are very nice boys names
Just a few of many.
I actually don't mind "Aniston" as a first or middle but just prefer it for a girl

Connelly: as surnames for first names go (something I'm not so keen on) I actually quite like it. It sounds like "Conner Lee" to me which is maybe why? Anyway, it's nice. If I met a Connelly it'd make me smile.
Nicknames, Con would be most natural, I think. Lee could work as well.I'd probably pair it with something short:
Connelly Jude, Connelly Ezra, Connelly Seth, Connelly Vaughn. His brothers (has he no sisters?) might be Morcant, Aaron and Vaughn.Aniston: It looks like it should be a town. It doesn't look like a person's name to me... googling it, the first thing that comes up is that it's the last name of an American actress. The most obvious nickname is Ani, which is Annie so it'd sound weird on a boy. Then there's Anis, which is a boy's name I think, so maybe that? I dunno. I really don't like this name so I'm going to skip out on pairing it xD

Connelly may have sisters, I don't know...I'm more curious about what boys names people think it would "go with". :)I like Connelly Jude.
I like the look of Connelly Vaughn, but Con Vaughn sounds too rhyme-y. Aniston is a town. That's where I heard it. :)
Yeah, the Ani/Annie thing is a drawback.
