'Tankard family' names
Just caught a few minutes of this show about Ben Tankard and his family but I was interested by a few of the names, particularly, Cyrene, Junice and Jewel.
Cyrene - "sigh-REEN"
Junice - "juh-NEECE"
Jewel
Wdyt of these ladies' names??
I personally think Cyrene is quite beautiful and Junice has a nice sound but I'd spell it Jenise, like Denise. Junice is bringing to mind 'jaundice.' Jewel I go back and forth on. Some days it's so vintagely chic, others it's 90s fluff.

Cyrene is kind of cool. Not very feminine, but interesting. I don't mind it.
Junice is not attractive to me at all.
Jewel...I'd definitely lean toward 90s fluff.

They look prettier than they sound IMO. I'd say "seer-EE-nee" and "JOON-iss" or at least "joo-NEESE." I agree that "juh-NEESE" should be Jenise or Janisse or something like that. Janiece?
Cyrene as "sigh-REEN" reminds me very much of styrene.
I kinda go back and forth on Jewel, too. If I forget about the singer I like it more. I don't feel like it's vintagey though - just word-y.

I don't care for Cyrene and Junice, but I like Jewel...for a boy. Ever since I read "As I Lay Dying", it's been cemented as a boy's name to me.
