Most are new to me, and I can't say that's a bad thing.
Glenna sounds like a lazy pronunciation of
Glenda, which isn't bad though I'd never use it. And I'm not fond of
Glen for a boy either.
Ruth is one of my all-time favourites, and given enough daughters I'd have used it for sure. So classic, intelligent and lively!
Arietta looks like a small song from an opera. Arietty I suppose would be even smaller. In the Borrowers books, they borrowed the name
Harriet and got it somewhat wrong - Arrietty, I think - and I don't like that either, though I love
Harriet.
Drusa looks space-alien; I see her teleporting down from a flying saucer, wearing a tight oven-foil onesie with cockatoo crests on the shoulders.
Drusilla is actually pretty nice, but not the original.
Mamie-Rose seems bizarre.
Mamie seldom happens where I live, and
Rose seems uncomfortable after a hyphen. Unattractively cutesie.
Alston and Quillan, what can I say? Two syllables, ending in -n, they should be winners but in me they just detonate instant boredom.
Adder, like the snake. Quite so. Nickname Puff? Great as a nn for a bookkeeper, but reptiles really don't make good namesakes. Better than Boa-Constrictor, but still not even slightly good.
Mogens looks like a misprint for morgens or smorens; I really enjoy
Magnus, though it is a bit over-optimistic, like
Duke or
Earl. But
Mogens, no, even before you start trying to teach the general public Danish pronunciation.
