Baby on the way. How do you like this name: Everest James
Everest being the first name and James being the middle name. I appreciate your input.

What if he's fat?
I've seen this name a few times for kids; Denali, McKinley, and other mountain names too. I just foresee it being a shame if the kid ends up being overweight. I hear "She's the size of Mt. Everest!" jokes in my head, and they are not funny. :(

I first read this as Everett James, which I think would be a lovely combo. However, Everest just makes me think of the mountain, and while that's not necessarily a bad association, it does make the first name Everest seem "larger than life" for a person to bear. Besides, people will probably just end up mistaking it as Everett his whole life, so why not just name him that?
Other options could be Everard or Forrest?

I really like both names and I even like the combo. Usually I don't like James in the MN spot cos it just screams "filler" and is so over-done. But with something more unusual like Everest, it works =)
I like that it is different and unique. I like that it invokes a beautiful natural wonder and I like the discipline and work ethic of the man who the mountain was named after.
