Yes, it would be a beast, and to my ear the sounds are not pretty anyway. And I'd hate to be called Mare.

It's only four syllables, which is fairly common. To me it looks like a combo of Mariama and Ariadne, both of which I've seen used before in real life (and I prefer Mariamne over both of those), so...it's not a beast. I wouldn't even think it was over the top.

I think it's beautiful, but (in the U.S.) Mariamne will no doubt get confused with Marianne quite often, or people will think it's a typo. Otherwise, I don't see its length to be a problem.

I think it's ravishing. Because it's similar to/redolent of Mary, Miriam, etc., I don't think it would cause too much confusion or be too onerous for the bearer.

It sounds beautiful, but I can't help but think it would always always be mixed up with Marianne. It looks annoyingly type-o-ish.

It's lovely but it would be difficult to use. My daughter's name is Miriam and she is often called Marian / Mary / etc. And the spellings I've seen - Merium is the onee that still takes the cake.

For me, I wouldn't use it. It would be so confusing to so many people. My name was unusual when I was growing up (trendy now) and it was a pain - even though Haven is pretty easy to spell and pronounce! Miriam, too, is fairly easy but as I said it's often mistaken for more common names and often spelled Mariam.

It sounds weird to me. I would much rather be plain old Marianne.
