Oh wow interesting.

I do like Onyx but rarely encounter someone who feels the same.
I also like Carnelian, Wisteria, Rosanthe, Rodanthe, Melanthe, Iris, and Fern!

Violet, Olive, and Rose are the only ones I really like, but I think of them as botanical names rather than color names. Well, and I like Xanthe too, but I don't think of that as a color name either, despite knowing its meaning - because I don't use the word xanthe. I also like Emerald and Ivory (as gem names not color names). Somehow, a color by itself isn't enough to inspire a name, for me.

I love, love, love Marigold! Esmeralda, Saffron, & Xanthe too. Amethyst has a nice feel about it too.

Marigold is probably my favourite for girls, but I love Viola (Vee-oh-luh) too, and I adore Indigo for a boy only, and Blue for a boy (but I don't mind for a girl, especially as a middle).
