Edla
I came across a couple of Edlas in my family and found it very charming as a name. Edla was quite a trendy name in the 19th century Finland and now its popularity has slowly started to rise again: people probably associate it with Tilda, Hilma and such vintage names.By the way, the "Ed" in Edla isn't pronounced as shortly as in Edna or other English names starting with "Ed": the stress on the "EH" sound is held a bit longer. So, what do you think of Edla? Which names would you match it with (Edla as a FN or a MN)? Also, do you prefer it to Effia (another rarity in my family tree)?
