After knowing so many Caitlins of various spellings, I'm definitely more of a fan of Kathleen. It really has a sweetly old-fashioned vibe. I've only known one -- Kathleen Grace -- who went to school with my middle dd.

I was at school with a very nice Kathleen, and numerous Catherine people with various spellings. I don't like it as much as Katharine or Catherine. Generally speaking, I dislike spondees, and I'm not fond of -een endings either, with the exception of Justine for some reason.

I like it, and Cathleen too. It's my favorite variant of this name.

Love Kathleen. But I prefer Cathleen since Irish doesn't have a K in its alphabet. I'm not saying Kathleen is wrong. It's the English form and therefore even more authentic, as a variant. It's just a personal preference. Kathleen is fresh sounding to me. Love nns Kathy, Kat and Kate.

It's Katherine's ugly younger sister.

I love it.

I like Kathleen a lot, especially as a middle name. It's more interesting than the bland Katherine, and less faddish than Kaitlyn, which I do like.
