Where does Honna derive from? Is it a nn for Honor?

Nope, I just like the sound better than Hanna / Hannah. I actually saw one once, on a name list at a conference. I tried the whole conference to guess who she might be. From her last name I would assume she was Indian, or married to someone from India. The H is pronounced in Honna, so Honor wouldn't work. An alternate spelling of Honne would work though, or a full name of Honnalee / Honalie would too.

Francine.... Francine.... hmmm, I'm gonna have to sit on that one for awhile. I want to like it more than I currently do but I foresee it REALLY growing on me. Frances almost made the list this month but I just don't LOVE it. Francine could get me there. HEART EYES at Ismene ;) Not one I ever expect to see in top 10s. How would you pronounce it? From the boys I like Evren and Dashiell

I always say iz-meen. Though, I am sure there are a lot of ways to pronounce it.
We briefly considered Ismene when we were pregnant with Nadine, but my niece has a middle name Esmie and my sister went up in arms because they sounded similar.

HeathI seem to be the only person on these boards who finds Evren more feminine than masculine! Hmmmm...

I would say that the majority of people on name boards seem to live Evren better on girls. I like it on both, but it's my top name for boys, and not for girls.
