Claudia - What a beautiful name! Very refreshing to see.
Maureen - Dated. So, so, so, so dated. Poor kid.
Billie - Ugh, nicknames as first names sound so childish.
Cosima - Ooh, how quirky! I love it. The parents have great style.
Philomena - How beautiful! I love the meaning of it. I wonder if the parents know what it means.Duncan - I adore this name! Are the parents Scottish or Shakespeare fans?
Rufus - Reminds me of the singer Rufus Wainwright and Rohypnol.
Percival - Is he going to be a knight at Medieval Times? Even so, Percy is a cute nn.
Collin - Is the family Scottish? Why did they add the second l?
Lucian - It's ok. Loosh is a cute nn.
Axel - Like a car axle? I do not understand the appeal of this name.

Claudia -- wealthy, educated parents who wanted her to have an elegant, sophisticated name. They succeeded, but didn't bother to check the name's meaning.Maureen -- named after her grandmother.Billie -- is it short for anything? Wilhelmina? Willa? Billie on its own seems incomplete. Cosima -- Brooklyn hipster parents with an impeccable taste in names.Philomena -- very devout Greek Orthodox parents, likely born in Greece itself. I'd assume they named her this for religious reasons.Duncan -- named by suburban American parents with vague Irish roots. Cute name. Rufus -- Brooklyn hipster parents who put a lot of thought into this. Cosima's brother. Percival -- Hipster parents who tried too hard. The baby has a cool name, but will unfortunately be bullied for it. Let's hope little Percy is resilient. Collin -- Doesn't really bring anything to mind. This is a good thing in a name. I would wonder if the parents were honoring a family surname because of the unusual spelling.Lucian -- Named by open minded, progressive parents with fluid views on gender. Well named.Axel -- Swedish parents, or American suburban parents trying so hard to be Swedish.

Love Claudia. Very pretty. I've known a few Claudia's my age (I'm 18) so I wouldn't find it too strange on a baby.Maureen is a GP of mine. That said, I admit it does sound too dated still. I'd be very surprised to meet a baby with this name.Billie is another GP. Cute but can't imagine it on a child over 10. I knew a Billie when I was about 5, and her sister Rickie.Hate Cosima on anyone of any age.My cousin named a woman named Philomena. She's gorgeous but I don't like her name. Too much of a mouthful and not fond of the nn Mena. Wouldn't mind it on a baby, but wouldn't like it either.Love Duncan. Think it's very handsome. Would love to see on a baby.Hate Rufus. I think it's extremely ugly and can only think of Rufus the naked mole rat from Kim Possible. Also hate Percival. I'd feel bad if I met a baby named this.Love Collin, but it's very common. It's the name of one of my cousins. Wouldn't think anything at all of a baby named Collin.I like Lucian. It'd be nice to meet a baby Lucian.I had a neighbor named Axel around my name. Never liked it much. Wouldn't mind meeting a baby with the name, though.
