If you didn't have a Ruby in the family, would Ruby's popularity in Australia have affected whether you would have used it or not? It's a lot more popular than Lucy. As an aside, I also adore the name Ruby but have been turned off by it's popularity. Ruby Ellen Joy was my go-to combo :)
