Eva because it sounds nicer and isn't as popular

I think both are lovely, but I prefer Eva. I adore the name Eve and I think Eva is beautiful too. Eva is just short and sweet, yet so spunky at the same time.

Both are lovely, if popular. I think I like Eva a bit better.

I just like the sound of Eva better.

Eva I think, but I'm not a huge fan of either.

I've never met an Ava. What puts me off is that, when you hear it, there's no way of telling whether it's Ava like Ms Gardner or Eva like Peron. That said, I don't actually like Eva (pron. EEva), but I do prefer it to Ava.

Ava's not a bad name, but I much prefer Eva. It's more classic and timeless, plus I find Ava a bit harsh-sounding. And Evie is a cute nickname.

I prefer Eva (ay-va). Eve (ee-va) and Ava (ay-va) seem trendier to me, not as timeless and less likely to age well. I don't know about Ava (ah-va), I like it but I don't know how common it is since I've never met one. Actually I don't know if it's used at all. It seems like it would be though, at least occasionally.

Eva. No contest. I’m just so sick of hearing Ava.

Eva because it is less popular and I love the nn Evie. Also in Spanish Eva sounds like English Ava so if you like that pronunciation you can just use Eva. My mother's cousin's daughter is the Spanish pronounced Eva.Truthfully I love both pronunciations that each name has so I love both names and the main reason just comes down to Ava being way too popular while Eva is not yet too popular.

I prefer Eva, as the long e sound is one of my favourites. It also doesn't help that Ava reminds me of those Avon books. They are both gorgeous choices though.

Ava - I never know how to pronounce Eva, and if it's EE-va, I much prefer the AY-va sound. Plus it just looks nicer, being a palindrome, it seems balanced.

Ava. Despite being really common, I just think it sounds beautiful- more so than Eva. The 'ay' sound compared to the 'Ee' sound drawls to me more in this specific case.

I definitely prefer Eva. It’s timeless. Ava seems dated to me (she’s likely to be under 30 or over 70).

Ava! I like both, but Ava is much higher on my list. Ava is also more youthful than Eva, in my opinion.

I prefer the pronounciation Ee-va, but I was a TV show and heard Eva said with A sound so I am not sure.

Eva pronounced with the ee sound is the English pronunciation and pronounced with the ay sound is the Spanish pronunciation. Except for my Mexican family members I've always heard it pronounced with the ee sound so I think that is the most common pronunciation in the US.
