If I was forced at gunpoint to choose, I'd choose Billy. It's not that great as a full name, but it's bearable.
Dismiss Sonny. Immediately. It's a stupid stupid name and people who use it on its own are too stupid even to name the kid after his father. Sonny's a name for an old person to call a younger man by when they don't know his name and don't think they owe him the courtesy of Sir or even Young Man. As in "Just a minute there, Sonny, where do you think you're going with MY mobility scooter?!"
