I don't like it, and never have, due to a bad personal association. Years after the last time I saw the Laura I hated, I met another, unobjectionable Laura, but that just couldn't make me like the name. And of course, I knew that not every Laura is horrible anyway. That's just how it is.

Sick as I am of Lauren, if I had to, I'd choose it over Laura, and definitely would prefer Laurel.
