Daphne, Danielle, Delilah
Which one would you choose, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I will go with Delilah. Danielle is too boring and Daphne is too Scooby Doo.

Daphne. Definitely a name I would consider using for a DD, I think it's really nice and I love Daphne plants.

I LOVE Daphne - by heritage - her transformation into the laurel tree to aid her escape from Apollo's conquest.

Daphne. It's classic, pretty, strong, and doesn't have the trendy feel Danielle (plus, just not a fan) or Delilah have.

Daphne, it’s kind of cool. Danielle is nice too. Don’t like Delilah so much.

Delilah. Daphne is fun but the sound isn't actually pleasant and I really dislike Danielle. Delilah is very pretty and has good nickname potential.

Daphne. Hands down. Cheerful, floral and friendly. OK, it can shorten to Daffy, but that's not the worst thing that can happen, or even inevitable.Daniel is one of my favourite male names, but Danielle with that thumping YELL for a last syllable is a disappointment. And, like Gabrielle, it's been getting quite a lot of use here recently, so it's hard to escape it.Delilah ... I don't mind naughty biblical ladies, not at all, but that wailing Tom Jones song is enough to make me consider voluntary deafness.

I would choose Daphne. I love the F & N sounds together. It is also a lovely flower. Second is Delilah, but the Ls are too close together. Lastly, Danielle. I like Danny-ell, but not Dan-yell.

I'd go with Danielle. I think it's pretty. Delilah's vibe is negative, to me, and then there's the overwrought radio woman. Blechh.I hate the sound of Daphne.

The only one I don't like is Danielle - partly because I grew up around several (and only liked one), partly because I really can't stand the nickname Dani.So for Daphne vs. Delilah, I would probably go with Delilah, if only because Daphne occasionally reminds me of Daffy Duck.

Daphne. It has a lovely sound and meaning, plus I'm fascinated by Greek mythology.
Delilah comes as a close second - some people could be put off by the biblical story (I'm not, and I love it's melodious sound).
Danielle just sounds dated and boring to me.

Delilah, because I think it's pretty and I think that the Biblical story is the only strike against it. I've never been wild about Danielle, though I don't hate it, but in addition it was just too popular. I hate Daphne. Too close to "daffy" if you ask me. I could live with the Biblical Delilah if I had to.

I love Delilah. The Bible story doesn't matter to me, and neither does the song. I actually like the song, and I think it's pretty.Do you feel differently about Daniella?

No, not really. Not too much of a difference there. Also I will throw in I dislike the nickname Danny or Dannie or whatever spelling for a girl.

Aw, I like Dany/Dannie, for a girl.

I like those nicknames (for a girl) as well.

I bet you like Billie and Bobbie too, don't you? Don't you??

Do you like Billie for a girl? Do you like Billy for a girl? Do you like Billie for a boy?Do you like Billy for a boy?_Do you like Bobbie for a girl? Do you like Bobby for a girl? Do you like Bobbie for a boy?Do you like Bobby for a boy?Is the "ie" ending more feminine than a 'y' - or is it the opposite?

The most common perception is that the "ie" ending is more feminine.

Billie, yes, Bobbie, not really.

1. Daphne - It's heard of but not used often; a little Daphne these days would likely be the only one in her class/school.2. Danielle - A bit boring, but I wouldn't be at all opposed to using Danielle if I *had* to.3. Delilah - The biblical namesake isn't the best association, and I also think of the radio personality (not really either a good or bad association). The name is a little too frilly, like something a celebrity might use. I really like plain old Lila though! So, Daphne.

I had never heard of this woman until people mentioned her in this thread. She hosts a radio show? I haven't listened to the radio in years.

Delilah by process of elimination. Daphne is nice in theory but I hate the sound and Danielle is extremely dated to me.

Like the first two and choose Danielle for sound/feel and connection to family name Daniel.

I'd pick Danielle. I like it pretty well. Delilah has sort of a pretty sound, but also an obnoxious vibe. Daphne just sounds snotty.

I love both Danielle and Daphne. If I had to chose one I would go with Danielle. I love the sound of it.Delilah brings to mind the annoying radio personality.

I love the sound of Danielle too. I believe I knew quite a few while attending K-12 schooling-so the name is all too natural--and cannot ever seem "dated" by review of popularity statistics: then again, few names can seem dated to me by a mere review of popularity statistics.
