In Germany Leila and Laila are always pronounced as LY-la. Leyla and Layla are usually LAY-la, but Layla can be LY-la too.Lila is a Sanskrit name and that is definitely pronounced LEE-la. However it can also be short for Delilah and then it's LY-la. There's really no way to tell which is why I'd avoid them even though I do like Lila and Leila.

German tends to have "ei" sound like "eye," which is reflected in names like Leigeber, so their pronunciation of Leila doesn't surprise me. I thought Layla was pretty much universally pronounced like Lay-la, so an alternative Ly-la pronunciation surprises me.
