Martha
I really like Martha. Do you like it? Chances for a comeback? What about Bertha and Erna? I started to like them as well.

I don't like Martha or Bertha but I do like Erna. I like Marsha more then Martha. It sounds less chunky.

I love the name Martha! I find it very sweet and friendly, comforting like a warm hug. I don’t see it coming back anytime soon. Bertha and Erna on the other hand, well I can do without them. The sound of both those names is unappealing to me.

Martha is ok, I don't see Bertha or Erna making a comeback

Martha will definitely have a sort of comeback in 5-10 years I think.I like it fine. Not enough to shortlist, I think it just sounds a bit damp and unfun. But it's also friendly and, like, dignified and workable.Bertha is probably dead. Erna is too random to "come back." Not a fan of it.

Martha feels very proper, tasteful, and quiet - not attractive, but certainly efficient. I don't think it will make a comeback.
Bertha really is quite horrid. It sounds massive, booming, and aggressive.
Erna is terminally dated, the "urrr" sound is abhorrent.

I love "th" in names, but Martha's never excited me. I do love how earthy it is.I like Bertha and Erna because they're widely unappreciated (and often maligned).

I think Martha is ugly-cute. It's my dog's name, hence my username. I think it's pretty funny on a dog. I appreciate its old fashioned, no-nonsense austerity. I wouldn't use it on a child, I don't think, but I'd be delighted to meet another person's little Martha. Can't get behind Bertha or Erma. I find them almost offensively ugly.

Martha as a dog's name ...Ever heard of "Martha Speaks"? It was a PBS kiddie show, based on a book, where the dog, Martha, develops the ability to speak after she eats alphabet soup.

I didn't hear about it until after I named my Martha. I still don't come across many Martha dogs, but I didn't anticipate coming across any. I think the show is responsible for a little spike in Martha dogs.

Yeah, far more dogs are named Bella and Bailey and Sadie. :)

The song “Martha My Dear” was about Paul McCartney’s dog, Martha.

Now, I did know that before I named her and I planned on that being the cute lovey song I sang to her all the time. But instead I sing "Jolene" by Dolly Parton but replace Jolene with Martine. It's ridiculous.

I love Martha. It’s a major family name for me, though I can never find the right middle name. It’s always Martha Ann in my family, which I find drab. I don’t like it with Caroline or Josephine, either.

The only experience I have with a real live Martha is a cheerleader I went to school with who at the time was beautiful but her personality didn’t match her outer beauty. Fast forward to today and finally her outward appearance reflects her inner self.
It’s an okay name but my experience with a real life Martha has tainted my view of the name.

I really like it, and would consider using it if my DH liked it (which he doesn’t!) I know a few little Marthas, it’s in the top 100 in the UK.Don’t like Bertha and Erna at all.

Well, Martha is at least better than Bertha or Erna, but that's really not saying much.
I like very few names with the th sound, and Martha is one of the ugliest ones. It's just frumpy and I picture a big, loud, frumpy woman stubbing out her cigarettes in her not-quite-empty coffee cup and hanging on the phone all day spreading rumors.

Never been a fan. It’s not awful, but in the same category as Margaret, dowdy and boring.Bertha is ugly, though not as much as it’s made to be, Erna is super ugly. I can see Martha making a comeback but not these two.
