Aria
It seems that many people are in love with this name, saying that it is ethereal and cute on girls. Am I the only person who thinks that it is overrated? I don’t know why but I can’t find it particularly pretty, and I tend to relate it with Pokemon series. Maybe it is just me.

I don't care for it, it literally means "air" in Italian. Arya is slightly better.

Really? I get the feeling that most people are sick of it and already find it dated and think of it as a fad. When you look at the statistics you can see that it is dropping like a rock. Same with Mila and I think Luna will be next. Nice sounding names that become quickly popular then become boring and fall quickly. Aria will sound very very dated.Yes, it is overrated. I don't think of Pokemon. I think of "Game of Thrones". I know that the character was Arya but in the first seasons, I believe (from online research) it was often pronounced like Aria until they changed it to the pronunciation the author intended (AHR-ya). So while they pronounced it like Aria on the show Aria became really popular. Since they have adjusted the pronunciation Arya has been rising.Arya has more substance but I wouldn't use it either. I like Aya (AH-ya).So yes, if you are tired of Aria, don't worry. It will drop quickly ;)

I just saw everyone praising it in the name's comment section, and the few people who dislike it seemed to be sparking argument (maybe because of attitude). Maybe I'm a bit too sensitive.

I don't enjoy musical names in general, though Carol has a certain vintage charm. And Aria is particularly difficult, although it also looks like Maria with the M chopped off; but the sound makes any nn impossible, so one is stuck with Aria at all times and for all purposes. Ah ... ? I'd even prefer Allegra, which is saying something! At least there's the chance of Allie.

I like it because I love the nickname Arie on a girl, and Aria is a simple, pretty and complete way to get to "Arie". I switch between the combos Aria Violet, Arie Winter and Ariel Maia.

I don't see what all the hype is about either

I personally love Aria, despite it's popularity and sounding trendy, so I do see where you're coming from. But to me, it has a beautiful meaning and origin.

Hi !!!I personally love Aria even if in my country (Italy) it is not very common. It is increasing in popularity but it is a word-name that means both "air" and a kind of melody.I like it exactly for what you've said. It is simple, immediate but has something elegant and it is nature-themed. It is also related with music and has an 'International' sound as it is popular abroad. In my opinion it is a perfect 21th century's name.
