Selma
Selma is a name I didn't like in the past, but it's been growing on me. WDYT?

Selma is beautiful name. I’m surprised one could dislike it. Salma is too.

I associate it with a friend's elderly great-aunt, which is OK but not wonderful. I much prefer Thelma; it seems both substantial and pretty, somehow.

It is quite loaded, isn't it? There being the Selma marches to consider.

It’s nice but I don’t love it.

It's a small town near where I live with a meth-based economy. So it has some baggage. Some magic buried beneath the baggage. Very old-fashioned.I also live near a town called Waverly, which has swung firmly into fashion. Selma hasn't had its day yet...

LoveI recently added it back to my list. It's a no-nonsense name with mystique.

Admittedly I'm not keen on Selma or Thelma.... but I like Velma ish. I realise they're all very same-y but the th- of Thelma is offputting imo Selma is better, but I like the sound that the V provides moreThe only name that I don't like of the Scooby gang is poor Shaggy aka Norville. Sorry Shaggy lmao
