Mildred or Millicent?
Choose one and explain why you chose it.

Millicent, even though the meaning of Mildred is nicer. Mildred is just so darn frumpy and dusty and clunky and I really don’t like it. Honestly, I’d much prefer just Milly / Millie as a full name.

I like both, but for now I'd choose Mildred. Though I like Millicent, and the diminutive "Millie"

I'd choose Mildred at the moment. I love the meaning, and its earthiness appeals to me a lot. I love Millicent too, though.

I'm on the fence about Millicent - I like the sound of it - very pretty - but I can't get the image of a millipede out of my mind!

Mildred. She's clunky, but I love her anyway. I like clunky names though. She has a beautiful meaning and a cute nickname. Plus, she makes me think of 1920s glamour.

Don't like either, maybe Millicent

I honestly prefer Mildred. I always liked it for some reason. Millicent is still good.

MildredMildred lives a treehouse or a cottage in the woods. Millicent lives in a factory.

I totally get the comparison in vibe. Millicent is manicured and Mildred is independent. Normally I would go for the latter vibe, but the -dred part bothers me more than the -cent sound. If both end up going by Millie I guess it is moot.

The ending mainly just reminds me in a vague way of Astrid and dreadlocks...and Mordred, but he could be interesting in an anti-hero way...and Eldred, but I had a great-uncle Eldred, and I thought his name was interesting. But yeah, I meant (while they're not super different) Mildred seems more organic and personable to me while Millicent seems kind of cold and angular. Plus Mildred always makes me think of autumn leaves, maybe because I see 'mild red' in it unconsciously.

Millicent for sure, Mildred is so dreary and as the other user said: Dreadful. I imagine mold, mildew and cobwebs with Mildred.
