I would go with Leonora. Very pretty and feels more complete than Annora.
If it's the number of syllables making him like Annora better there are the options of Lenora, Leonor or Leona, which are basically Leonora minus one syllable. Combining them would be another possibility, Leanora is lovely too.

We actually pronounced Leonora as ‘Lenora’ without the ‘O’ sound, and loved the idea as ‘Leo’ or ‘Leni’ for short. Now I got my hands tied. Very torn. Thanks for your help!
