Ismerie / Ismeria
What are your thoughts on Ismerie (Maybe Ismérie?) and Ismeria for a girl? What middle name would you use?Ismerie was basically supposed to be like the black Madonna. So it’s not just some kre8tive Esmeree. I find that very interesting, the names reminds me of ice cream on a summer day. Sweet, unexpected, and gentle. I imagine a smart girl. Maybe.. Ismerie Willow, Ismerie Sunday, or Ismerie Oona.

I actually find them pretty (not 'unnecessarily ugly'?) in a kind of high fantasy way. There are certainly way, way, way more ugly 'accepted established' and kr8tive names - saying the name outloud and seeing it written down, I really struggle to see anything that would warrant a visceral reaction.
I think they're nice enough. I don't know how I'd feel seeing in person, I'd probably think 'neat', even if Ismeria is a bit GoT. I prefer them both as a mn, they'd be a cool, unexpected mn with a bit of history and personality. I'd quite like Oona Ismerie actually.

I like it. It certainly has an intriguing history. Ismerie sounds more namey, Ismeria sounds like a country in a fantasy book. Of your combos I think Ismerie Willow suits the sweet gentle vibe. I would use something like Ismerie Lilah.

It's not bad but it's so gorgeous.

I'd have guessed that someone got kre8iv with Isabel and Marie/Maria. I don't get the 'black Madonna' reference, but I do find the names quite unnecessarily ugly.

Much more conjecture than fact, which isn't surprising of course. I actually wonder if Ismerie might have been a misreading of Ismene. It's at least as likely as the name of the Virgin Mary's aunt!

Well of course it would be conjecture! It’s not very documented and very old as a name. Just a legend. I don’t think Ismene is related, but perhaps she is so!
