Re: Lyla or Leila?
It would be unusual in my language as LY-la because it would be either written as Laila or Layla and LAY-la would be Leila or Leyla, which I find annoying because my favorite spelling is Layla and the pronunciation I like best (LAY-la) doesn't match Spanish spelling. :/
However, it would be completely fine in English since Leilani is pronounced the same way.Lyla is a spelling I don't find bad, but I prefer the more traditional ones, my favorite being Layla as I said before, due to the song by Eric Clapton (I know it was originally released by Derek and the Dominos, but I prefer Eric's version).I also like Lila, however I pronounce it LEE-la because it coincides with the Spanish word for the lilac flower and color. Lilah would be more intuitive as a variant of Leila.
