Personally, I like Gwen more. The reason is that Quinn sounds somewhat similar to the word queen. and I like the sporty and lively vibe of these names.

Gwen - It's very pretty and simple. Also it's nice nickname for Gwendolyn. Quinn - It's fine for both gender but it sounds like "queen" (for a girl) and "quill" for me.

I love Gwen so much, and I'm surprised it hasn't charted sooner. Gwen has the same energy as these cozy-homey names that started getting more popular the past 20 years - Sadie, Ellie, Emma, Abby, Elsie etc. Gwen is super cute and sturdy. Maybe the sturdiness is what scared people off until now. Quinn always seemed very normal to me, I had a girl friend named Quinn in Junior High. Quinn reminds me of Erin, Jordan, Avery or Riley, one of those sporty, brisk unisex names. I like Quinn pretty well.

I never used to like Quinn for girls, but it’s grown on me the last few years. I don’t mind it for girls now. Gwen is kind of cute. There’s a little girl at my church who’s nearly 2 and her name is Gwen. I wouldn’t use it though.

I like them both. Quinn reminds me of "Daria", though.

I like Gwen but I am biased because it's my name.

Gewn / Gwendolyn has grown on me a lot, I like it. Quinn is fine? Its not of my style, but I think its an okay gender-neutral name. It reminds me of Joanna Quinn, the animator. I grew up with Famous Fred, but she was discussed while I was at university and we were shown her films, Girls Night Out in particular. I believe she also worked on some adverts from the 90s / early 2000s that I recognised, too. I think she did the Charmin bears. The name gives me that kinda arty sketchy feel

Sorry - the rest of my postI'm somewhat surprised by Quinn, as I thought it would follow the same path as Morgan and Robin - decrease in popularity for girls, increase for boys. Instead it's rising as a girl's name. It does fit the popularity patterns, though - short with an unusal initial. I really like it. I love Gwen and I'm happy to see it being used again. Gwendolyn is also increasing in popularity, meaning that quite a few little Gwens are going to be popping up. I'm happy - it's such a lovely, understated name.I prefer Quinn and Gwen to all the ella & ina names for sure.Thoughts?
