I grew up when the
Marie hyphenated names were in full force in Québec. I went to school with girls named Marie-Michelle,
Marie-France, Marie-Chantal, Marie-Julie, Marie-Sophie,
Marie-Ève,
Marie-Claude, Marie-Pier, etc.
Not that I hate the names, but they feel so associated to my generation that they don't feel fresh to me. If I had to chose, I kind of like Marie-Stella. I would also chose names like
Marianne and
Marilou, which are both contraction of Marie-Anne and
Marie-Louise.
