I think the kind of person who would make jokes about it is on the sociopathy spectrum. Abel is a well known name that means breath. It's a beautiful name, and I think it's especially fitting for a child with disability. He matters because he is here, for the breath in his lungs, and whatever he is "able" to do is its own triumph. Congratulations to your sister and your family!
