Re: 10 most unpopular boys names 2024
Any particular reason why these names are so unpopular?Steve: Well, in the US, Steve is nearly always short for Steven, which isn't as popular as it was a couple generations back but you do still see young Stevens.
Colin: This still seems modestly popular.
Craig: Mayb not as popular as it was when I was a kid, but I wouldn't call it unpopular or disliked.
Derek: This was definitely popular back in the eighties but seems to have fallen way off.
Gareth: Never got much use here.
Tyrone: Was so popular on black guys in the 70s that it's actually become a cliche Black Guy Name. Fell out of style very quickly.
Phil: Same deal as with Steve.
Wolfgang: Not sure it ever got much use here.
Sameer: Ditto this. It sounds too much like smear.
Roger: Very much a mid-20th century name. It was out of style by the time I was born. I only knew one my own age, and he was a Junior and went by RJ. Heck, I think his dad went by some other name.
