I prefer Madeline, pronounced MAD uh lin and with the middle syllable hardly there at all.
Maddie isn't dated, but nor is it in any way desirable. Maddie is the reason I'd only ever consider Madeline as a mn.
I dislike lnfns unless the name is a family surname which would otherwise die out. In which case, I'd use Madison as a mn and keep quiet about it.
Madigan? Never seen that one; looks like an insane woollen button-up sweater. Avoid!
