It's okay, I like it, but I wouldn't use it since it's the common word for "pigeon" in my language. I wasn't aware of the cocktail, but I don't think it's notable enough to affect the name.

In my language pigeon and dove are called same thing, is it same for you?

It's also the same, but I immediately think of the city ones and not the symbol of peace (white dove).

I also immediately think of city bird. When my city was under siege these birds were food, so I don't like it because of that association...

Can't answer for everyone, but I'm used to using 'pigeon' for domesticated birds and 'dove'for wild ones. That seems to be the only difference, though domesticated critters tend to have more varied colours etc than wild ones.

In my language pigeon and dove are both called голуб (holub).
