WDYT of Maddox
Need some input on the name Maddox. Beside the fact that Angelina Jolie has a son with the same name....what do you think of the name Maddox? Would you shorten it or call him by his full name? I've also noticed that some PRN it differently then I. How do you PRN Maddox?

Mah-docks... is how I would say it.I like it very much as a name, and wouldn't give a nickname for it at all. It's a nice Scottish name.

Maddox is a trendy ln-as-fn and reminds me of "mad ox" or "mad dogs".
I would rather use a real Welsh fn like Madoc (Maddox means "Son of Maddox).*Sings "Mad dogs and Englismen go out in the midday sun"*"But it’s all right now.

I can't stand it, sorry. I just see "mad ox". Also, it's a surname and sounds horribly ugly to me.I say MAD-ox.

Aside from the Angelina Jolie mohawk baby association (whic is hard to get away from) I think it's cute. I would pronounce it mad-ux

I don't like it because I don't like Angelina Jolie.
There was also the author, Ford Maddox Ford.

I've never really ike it. If my kid was Maddox I wouldn't shorten it, I cant think of a way to do that. I prounounce it Mad-dox. "Is this you? Are you happily engrossed in inconsequential cartoon trivia to the point that your socks can proboly stand up by themselves? Well there's hope. There's help. There's the "Please, Please, Please Get A Life Foundation."
