Dashiell
Sorry to post yet again ... I've been ill today, so online more than usual ...Dashiell is a family name I've found - my great-grandmother's maiden name. (I've researched a lot about her and she led an amazing life.)Bearing this in mind, WDYTO Dashiell for a girl? While a lot of surnames sound masculine, this doesn't at all (to me).Maybe Dashiell Natalia?

How is it pron.? I think I like it, which is odd for me to like a surname for a girl. It reminds me of Danielle and Michelle. It's like a cute combo of the two.

I find it masculine, too surname-y and a bit trailer trash especially on a girl. Sorry...

I like it more for a boy. I've had it on my boys list for a while, and I would cringe if I ever saw it on a girl. Plus, the almost inevitable nn Dash is much better for a boy, IMO.

PS ...*kicks self for not logging in so I could edit*I love it for a boy too, so opinions on the name for either gender appreciated! Ta,

I know a little boy named Dashiell (siblings Lucien and Zola Plum) I'm not crazy about it for a girl. I think it might be pretty cool on a boy, or maybe as a girls middle name.Skye Dashiell?

I don't like it for a girl. With Natalia as a middle name, it's not SO bad but I still dislike it, sorry. (It rocks for a boy though)

I can only think of the male writer, Dashiell Hammett, so that kind of kills it for a boy's name for me.
