I really like Ace, but I can't see it as a full name, as it was a nn bestowed upon my older brother.

As a nn for a more formal name, however, I think it could work-- I especially think it goes well with the names you mentioned. I like A's and Crystal's suggestions of Asa and Alexander for full names-- you could also use Aaron, though it may be a bit of a stretch there (Aaron is the name of my brother mentioned before, and he mostly got the nn in reference to his running abilities.)
