Nora or Norah
We're expecting our second baby in July, so it's obviously too early to know the sex, but we are already comtemplating names. My husband really likes the name Nora for a girl and I've started to like it as well. My question is, which spelling do you prefer? Also, how do you think most people would spell it (if they didn't ask)? Thanks!

I prefer the Nora spelling, as I see this more as a nickname for names such as Eleanora and Annora. I think most people would probably spell it Nora without asking, as it seems more 'natural'. Norah is a more modern version imo.

I love both, but I slightly prefer Norah because I generally prefer h's at the end of names for some reason. On the other hand, I think it would get misspelled if it were spelled with the h. People would probably assume it was Nora.

I think I'd probably go with Norah. The singer Norah Jones spells her name with the "h" and people have been introduced to the name again because of her.

I prefer Norah - probably most would spell it Nora.I must say - Joanna Catherine is beautiful. Especially since one of my combos is Joanna Katherine Elise! :-)

NorahHowever, I think that more people would spell it Nora if they didn't ask. Joanna and Norah makes a good sibset btw! :)

Personally, I prefer Nora, though I don't have any particular reasoning as to why.
Congratulations!

I think it would be spelled Nora. I like it spelled that way.

I love Nora/Norah! It's one of my favourite names. I like both spellings, but Norah a bit more. It seems much more "finished", IMO. I think people would spell it either way.

I personally prefer the spelling Nora. Most people would probably spell it Nora if they didn't ask how to spell it beforehand.

NorahI think Norah is more attractive and is prettier than just Nora, which I find plain. Most people would probably spell it Nora, but that's what makes Norah different. :)

I definitely prefer Nora. I think the "h" on the end is entirely unnecessary, but Nora (this spelling, obviously) is one of my top favorites. The only Norah I know of is the singer Norah Jones, so all the others I know (of) spell it Nora. So I always assume it's Nora so I guess others might as well. BTW, I think Joanna and Nora sound lovely for sisters. :)

Either spelling is ok, but I prefer Nora. I'm pretty sure that most people would spell it Nora since Nora is more common than Norah.BTW It's a lovely name. Good luck!

NoraI also think it goes better with Joanna (Norah would have gone better with Johanna).
