origin of "nonavee"
Searching for the origin of Nonavee, an American Indian name which I believe has the translation "blue skies."

No idea. Nona is an English name. I tried to break it apart and search, but no luck.
Tried it also as an elboration of Nova in Native American(a stretch I know) and Nova to them means "butterfly chaser".
Still not much good.
Sorry.-Seda*

Seda, where did you find the "butterfly chaser" meaning? And in which Native American language does it mean that? There are a lot of languages so if a site says that a name has a particular meaning "in Native American" rather than, for example, "in Cherokee" or "in Sioux" they're probably making it up.:-)

Recently coined name from Latin novus "new". This name can also mean "butterfly chaser" (Native American). But Caprice helpfully clarified in Comments that "butterfly chaser" is of Hopi origin.Miranda

I think it's in the Hopi language, but when Native American names were collected, the English often didn't record which "tribe" the name came from. Therefore, many names are only recorded as "Native American" - but it's like saying a name is "European".
