What's wrong with same-initial firstname/lastname?
Someone on these boards expressed a negative attitude to names where the firstname and surname have the same initial (e.g. Peter Parker...). Is there a general consensus that such names are somehow silly, and if so, why?- Tue

It depends what the name is, i no a charlote clark, chris collings, they dont sound that bad but i no a emma epps and a lacey lash, they sound weird!

Neither of my two children have like initials but I don't think anything is wrong or silly about it. Actually, I like it and think it is attractive, aids in people remembering a name and people that come into my mind that have like initials were strong, popular people. I would definitely consider using same initials if I have a third, that is if there is a name that I really like with a matching initial to our last name.

I'm not too crazy about same initials. Some names work, but some don't. Take the name you gave as an example, Peter Parker - I don't think that's works because both in with an "r" sound (it sounds like that nursery rhyme: "Peter Piper Picked A Pepper..."). But, that my opinion. Here are some ways same initials work, I think:
Megan Marie
Jon Joseph
Joseph Jon

I'm not too crazy about some names that have the same first sound, but actually a lot of them work well together. I think it really depends on the name.

I suppose it depends on the names. I have a friend whose name is Tjaden (pronounced Jayden) Nichole Thoennes (pronounced Tennis) and the innitials TNT just dont seem right to either of us. It doesnt help that she hates her name.
