I was just looking at the name Selene and what info was provided on the database. It says the PRN is see-LEE-nee I believe, but has anyone seen it as suh-LEEN? Or is that only Celine that can be PRN that way? I never knew it had three syllables.

The ancient Greek name was Selènè. It was pronounced as se-le-ne with all the 'e's as the e in Emma.
In Dutch I would pronounce it Suh-LAY-nuh

I've heard it often, but always with three syllables, since it is originally Greek, after all, and the final -e is sounded. Just as Zoe doesn't rhyme with Joe ... or I really, really hope it doesn't.

over here we definitely pronounce Selene as see-LEE-nee with 3 syllables. actually we dont say "Lee" but "leh" as in "left".
Sélène in french is close to suh-leen, but also as in "left"
in english I'd also pronounce it as Celine i guess =)

sorry, Selene in french actually is Séléné ... so its excactly the same as see-lee-nee

I've always though Selene was suh-LEEN as well. huh.
