Dear Wizards...
I am in need for origin and meaning of the name Tavita. I have googled it and found,
TAVITA
Possibly from Latin origin -Octavia- meaning "eighth".
Female, Hebrew form of David. Also I got this text
"Citing Luke 9:36 as it reads in the Greek saying that Luke "proves"
he is writing in Greek when he explains that the Aramaic
word "Tabitha" means "Dorcus". But again this only occurs in the
Greek NT, in the Aramaic text Luke does not explain the meaning of
Tavita at all".Does anyone, by any chance know what Tavita means in Aramaic??
Any information will be of great help!
Thank you a bunch in advance.

It is moi :D and I have an answer of sorts..According to Kolatch (the New Name Dictionary - a book on Hebrew names), Tavita is a form of Tavi, which is a female form of David. Which I suppose makes sense.
