Archivesinfo on Ruaraidh

Just wondering if you could give me info on the name Ruaraidh?
Such as its origins. Im 23 and have only just found out that it has something to do with 'Red king'. I was always under the illusion that it was Scots gaelic for 'Roderick' (or something).
Any info info would be greatly appreaciated.
