But names with 'ieke' in them are often Dutch nicknames (Mieke, Marieke for example). Nieke (not Niekie) looks like a Dutch nickname, and a google image search shows that it's used a first name and a surname in the Netherlands.
Niekie could potentially be a spelling variation of Nieke, depending on where the person named Niekie lives.

Niekie means `hot Saharan wind` in Hawaiian. Alternatively it could be an Aramaic spelling of Nikki, nickname of Nikita or Nicole.

I'm very interested as to how a Hawaiian name would mean "hot Saharan wind" given that it's nowhere near the Sahara. That sounds like a made-up meaning to me.
