It's pronounce the wait it's written with two short "a's" and a long "e"I know Leena which is Russian means Illumination.
But Tal is also seen in
Hebrew as Morning dew (Talia from Talya meaning dew from god)
Choctaw Tal from Tallulah meaning Leaping waters (water falls)
German Tal meaning to destroy
Welsh meaning HighFrom this post he seems to think it's Dutch or German but it's spelled with only one "e" as Talena but it's pronounced the same.

If your mother had just heard the name but never seen it, she could have remembered the Spanish name Catalina, dropped the Ca- and used a spelling that made sense to her: Taleena instead of Talina.I'm quite sure that one little name is unlikely to have been combined from names in Russian, Hebrew, German, Choctaw and Welsh. Armenian is pretty unlikely too. If it just popped into her head, then she most likely heard something, some time, very like the whole name, not just bits of it. And maybe forgot that she had, until the joy of meeting her own little girl made her memory work.
