Does any one know of any related names for Satu ? (Means "fairy tale, fable" in Finnish) I know it comes from Swedish/Nordic word "Saga"(story?)
But are there a close equivalents in other European languages ?Many Thanks

In Indonesian, satu mean 'one' as in the number.

Taru is also a Finnish name used for females. It means almost the same thing as Satu (fairy tale, fable, story). And then there`s of course Saga in Sweden and Saaga in Finland.

'Saga' can be used directly as a female name in swedish.As per 31.12 2003 there were 5772 women with this name, of which 3589 had it as their addressing name.Earliest observation: 1873
