Seven-Letter Names
What I wanted to know was: How can I easily search for seven-letter names? The reason for my asking is that I have read theories suggesting that organized, patterned [full] names will allow the child to have a stable personality. Now, please do not regard me as a gullible idiot who will see any "crack-pot" theory as truth; I am simply taking into account all possibilities. I believe that if the theory is correct, I can help my future children develop stably, and if it is incorrect, I will have done no harm in trying. So, please respond or email me about anything you might know in the mattter.

If you go to:
http://www.babynamesworld.comAnd go to "advanced search". Fill in ("on which are") "exactly 7 charcters long" you will be given a list of names with 7 characters..only think is that there're 2018 names and on some, the meanings aren't really 'correct' but you can always check this site's database for a more accurate one...Good luck!

Seven is a magic number all right, but it also is a number that the human mind can readily recognise - these facts are probably connected! If we see seven items, we can identify them as seven, but if we see eleven we just see "a lot". Obviously, seven is near the upper limit - it's easier to recognise without counting if there are two or three items. So that's probably where the idea came from. As for stable personalities - yes, they are worthy things to have, but probably more likely to come from having a warm, stable home. Having said that, and assuming that you are pretty stable yourself in spite of having two letters missing, why not just read quickly down the top 100 names in the year of your choice (go to the Home page for instructions), note the ones you like, and then see if the spelling is what you'd prefer. A choice between Deborah and Debra, for instance, could easily be resolved; or Stephen and Steven. Annette and Anita. And so on.Love your kids when they happen, and good luck!
