Nicknames of "Krzysztof"

I'm currently living in a student flat in Germany, and two of my flatmates are Polish. They call me by the polish version of my name, as well as a shortened version, and wondered how it is spelt...It sounds like "Shi-Shu"It is something different to Krzys as they call me that too.
