Khodi/Khudi/Khode/Khude
I find this name in an old text about Jewish women names. It starts with a sound like loCH ness. I cannot find what it means.

Alternative transcription of Hode, perhaps?

I was at first thinking that too, but I don't think that the "h" sound would be replaced from the "ch/kh" sound. In this situation, I don't think it would, but it's definitely possible.

h / ch is a common transcriptionThink about Hannah / Channah, Chaim / Haim, Cheftzi-bah / Hephzibah, and so on. Absolutely no reason why Khode / Hode couldn't exist.

Hmmm....It looks Yiddish to me. I'm guessing that it *might* be a Yiddish form or nickname of another name.
