Spelling of male names
I am having trouble finding the spelling of my father's name. His name was (this may not be right!) Jocephus. I cannot find it any place. He once lived in Muskogee, OK around 1945, I know. Can someone help. I have looked everyplace, and can't find that spelling. Can someone suggest another spelling. And, what is the origin of that name and it's history? Looking for any help!!

I would assume that the name is Josephus, and that the name was inspired by the ancient Jewish historian called Flavius Josephus. His name is just a Latinate version of Joseph. http://members.aol.com/FLJOSEPHUS/home.htm

I would guess that you're looking for Giuseppe which is the Italian form of Joseph, or some other spelling / version of the same name, like Josepe.
If you click on the linked names you get to what this site has to say about them and you can look at related names.
