Hendel is a Yiddish petform of Hannah. In Russian, whose alphabet lacks the 'H', the letter 'G' is a regular substitute in its place; thus, Russian Jews called Hannah may be "Gendel" at home. The further diminutive -in extention would not be uncommon, but that Ver- is a headscratcher.
