What is the Latinized form of Lyon?
After watching the show empire I became interested in Mr. Lyon's last name(which is Lyon). I did some research and came up with the french city of Lyons, France. The name Lyons is derived from the Latin name of the city, Lugdunum(sometimes Lugudunum), Latinized verison of Lugodunon, earliest translation being Lugduno. Ultimately derived from the Celtic god named Lug, whose messenger was the crow (lugus). So pretty much anyone who can make or identify a personal Latinized name of Lyon, it would be very helpful. So again, thank you to anyone who can help me, and reads another one of my weird post.

SWAG Alert! If your etymology is correct and my understanding of Latin suffixes is correct, some possibilities:
  • Lug[u]dunum = Lyon[s]
  • Lug[u]dunus would mean "from Lyons"
  • Lug[u]dunianus would mean "citizen of Lyons"
